My first few weeks in Spain have been a whirlwind. They have been a mixture of excitement, nerves, and confusion. Sometimes I even feel like I'm experiencing all these emotions at one time!

When I first arrived at my apartment, the only things I wanted to do were take a shower and get some sleep. It had been an exhausting few days of travel and I was thankful to have a bed to sleep in, no matter where it was. I ended up doing a lot of sleeping for the first couple of weeks! Spain is six hours ahead of my home town in Florida, so my body was incredibly confused! By the third week in my apartment, I started going to sleep and waking up at normal times. I still get confused when I talk with my family and friends back in Florida. It feels so weird that they are just waking up and getting ready for the day around the time that I get home from school here in Spain!

The daily schedule of a person in Spain is entirely different from the schedule I was used to at home. I was used to waking up early and eating breakfast around 5 or 6 in the morning, eating lunch at 11 or 12, and eating dinner around 6. Now, my workday starts much later, so I don't have to wake up as early, and I don't eat breakfast until 7 or 8 in the morning.
