I was born on September 19, 1999 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Kathmandu is the capital and the biggest city in Nepal, so naturally while growing up, I loved being around busy environments where people were striving to make a better life for themselves.
I attended an international school in India from 2nd grade to 6th grade where I was exposed to classmates from various countries and backgrounds- such as Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Thailand. This is when I also began to appreciate being around people that came from different parts of the world. My friends in India taught me a lot about their religion, cultural values, language, music and so much more! And I brought this knowledge and curiosity with me to the United States when I moved here in 2011.
In the United States, I moved to a small city in North Carolina called Greensboro. Greensboro is now known for being a diverse city with a growing number of immigrants and a refugee population. However, back when I first moved to Greensboro, the city was quiet and empty, with little diversity. Luckily, my middle school had some Asian-Americans whom I could bond with.
I grew up watching some of the most influential Asian American musicians and content-creators on Youtube.
