A Kid's Life! Asturias Through the Eyes of Vera

Introduction:

While she may be a few years older than some of you, I think you will all be intrigued by Vera's descriptions of her life as a kid. She told me all about her family, typical afterschool activities and her favorite snacks. She even has a question or two for you at the end!

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

Common breakfasts in Vera's house are cereal or toast. She typically eats lunch with one of her sets of grandparents, and what they serve can vary. Sometimes, lunch includes a salad, spaghetti or a typical Spanish bean dish. Dinner might look similar to lunch, and it might include some kind of meat like pork or beef.

What is your house like?:

Some Spanish kids live in apartments, but others live in houses. Vera lives in a house with a backyard and three floors. She lives with her parents and her two sisters, who are ages 6 and 10.

What chores do you have at home?:

Vera's main chore is helping to clean up after dinner, to clean dishes and put plates away. Cleaning her room is also one of her main tasks. Vera mentioned that she frequently helps her sisters clean their rooms, since they are younger and occasionally forget!

What jobs do your parents have?:

Both of Vera's parents are physical therapists.
