This field note is composed of responses from a variety of students from different schools, ages, grades and backgrounds around Chiayi County and City. I employed the help of my fellow Fulbright English teachers (there are 18 of us in Chiayi City and County combined) so that I could garner a diverse range of perspectives from Taiwanese students. These answers were either written or spoken by Taiwanese students, in both Mandarin and English, at different times throughout the semester. Due to the timing and contextual differences in answers, their responses have been mostly summarized and are not all verbatim responses from students. Some answers are directly from students, and will be answered with "I" or "We" accordingly. I hope you enjoy this brief glimpse into the minds of Taiwanese students. Also, this entry was rather long and I didn't want to include many pictures of my students as I don't want to publish their faces on the internet, so I've included pictures of my life lately in Taiwan, instead. The images are unrelated to the content of the answers that the students gave to the written questions.
