Give a brief introduction of yourself:

My name is Gabriela (or Gabi), I am 24 and I am originally from a city in rural São Paulo called Dracena. I am currently in Assis studying Letras (a degree unique to Brazil where students graduate as Portuguese and English teachers as well as study literature and linguistics) at the State University of São Paulo. I was eight years old when I started taking an English course in my city. I studied there for six years and really liked it. Afterward, I started teaching English in language schools. In 2020, I moved to Assis to attend university. This year, I am graduating and I hope to work as an English and Portuguese teacher. Next year, I hope to be accepted to a master's program in education.

Tell us about growing up in Dracena — what’s it like, what’s the typical food, what are the things people do for fun, what was your childhood like?

Growing up in Dracena was fun. It's a small town so I always felt very safe and like I knew everyone everywhere I went. Typical food is actually hot dogs! In the rural parts of São Paulo, we take a hot dog and put it in a panini press along with a tomato and vegetable sauce.
