Some of my favorites have been Bertioga, a beach city in São Paulo; Parati in Rio de Janeiro, which is a historical beach city in Brazil which was great because I enjoyed learning about the history of my country; Ilha do Mel (Honey Island) in Parana, which is a beautiful beach with very pretty landscapes; Monte Verde in Minas Gerais, which is a small, historic city in a colder part of Brazil where you can see beautiful landscapes and hike. My favorite was Natal in Rio Grande do Norte. It is one of the most popular beach cities in the northeast of Brazil with the most beautiful beach I have ever seen.
Talk about what a typical day in your life looks like:
I am in my last semester of college. I wake up around 6:40 a.m., get ready and go to my university. My classes are from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. every day. After class, I go to the gym with Cecilia, then I have a typical Brazilian lunch of rice, beans, meat and salad. Then, I study and in the evenings, I teach private English classes from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Talk about your favorite things about Brazil:
Brazilian music is my favorite part of Brazil. I am a huge fan of every kind of Brazilian music—Brazilian rap, Brazilian Rock, Brazilian Country, MPB, Forró, Brazilian Reggae, etc! It's my favorite part of my country. I love the weather because it is usually warm. I like our culture because we usually welcome everyone. Brazilian food is also my favorite! Churrasco (Brazilian BBQ), Paçoca (peanut sweet), feijoada (Brazilian national dish), Acarajé (Afro-descendant food with deep fried beans), Brazilian couscous, Brigadeiro (sweetened condensed milk with chocolate), the fruits—passion fruit, açaí, mango, etc.
