A Peek Over the Cliffs of Moher

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Galway, located on the west coast of Ireland. We saw Christmas celebrations and visited the famous Cliffs of Moher, which took my breath away!

Galway has had an active port here since the tenth century, but the city no longer relies on fishing and trade
Mid-November strikes me as a tad early for Christmas festivities, but Galway's holiday cheer was contagious
Galway's huge Christmas market (an outdoor celebration with food stands and, in this case, rides) opened the night we were there
Despite recent rumors about buskers (street performers) being banned in Galway, we saw many singers serenading passersby
We chose the hard way to get to the Cliffs of Moher... hiking!
We met some furry friends along the way (do you know why her ears are tagged?)
This pretty pony ate hay right from our hands
Coastal grasses around the cliffs flatten into cool patterns under the wind
