A Peek Over the Cliffs of Moher

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Galway, located on the west coast of Ireland. We saw Christmas celebrations and visited the famous Cliffs of Moher, which took my breath away!

Curious fungi and mosses grew all over the rocks in the meadows, making them nice bright colors

Built in the 16th century, Doonagore Castle is now a private home!

All the rocks by the cliffs are sedimentary, which means a river once dumped layers of sand, silt and mud that eventually hardened into rock

The Cliffs of Moher started being formed 320 million years ago, and they're still stunning today

Looking down from 200 feet over the rocks and water felt dizzying!
