Food is prepared differently in every country! In Peru, I learned that food safety is very important. It’s important to always wash fruits and vegetables and not leave meat or cheese out for too long so you don’t get sick.
One popular dish in Peru is called ceviche. It is made with fresh fish and lime juice. The lime helps “cook” the fish! There are also many delicious cooked foods like rice, chicken, soups, and potatoes.

Fishermen in Huanchaco use reed boats called Caballitos de totora. You can find them early in the morning bringing in fresh catches.
