






The weather is getting cooler as fall is coming to an end. This week, I had to wear my winter jacket for the first time since getting here!
I have seen a lot of pigeons around Mainz recently. The other day, I noticed a whole flock of pigeons outside of Mainz's central station, and they all seemed to be eating lunch at the same time! They looked so funny I had to take a picture.
The coolest thing I saw in nature was definitely the view from the balcony of Heidelberg Castle. From there, you can look out on the Neckar River Valley as it extends for miles. The valley looks especially pretty this time of year, when all the trees are turning colors.
Germany is currently undergoing an Energiewende, which is German for energy transition. Right now, more than 35% of Germany's energy usage comes from renewable sources, the biggest of which being wind and solar power.
