It has been very hot and sunny for two months now, even as we are entering Fall. However, there is a typhoon coming in, so it is getting very windy! Soon, it will be rainy.
I see a lot of 八哥 (bā gē - eight brothers) birds, which are my favorite birds around. I also saw seagulls, pigeons, crabs by the ocean, worms, stray dogs, stray cats, monkeys (Formosan rock macaques) in the mountains, little egrets and small geckos. All that is in addition to the many cockroaches and ants I see in my house (we really need to scrub the kitchen soon...).
This week, I went to the coastline and discovered that the tide goes up and down so much that you can't even see the water from the beach when the tide is down! There are also tons of tiny little crabs digging holes in the mud. So many that you can hear the bubbling and popping of their air holes.
