It's been over six months since I moved to the Czech Republic, and the time has flown by. It was hard at first, not knowing any people or any of the language. I can still remember my first week here driving through the Czech countryside with my colleague whom I had just met, hours away from any big city, and how nervous and unprepared I felt for the journey ahead. I couldn't have imagined how wonderful this experience would turn out to be.
The community here has welcomed me in and made me feel at home. I have gotten to experience things I never would have seen if I hadn't gathered the courage and followed my passion for traveling and teaching. I have gotten to travel to five different countries since moving here, including the U.K., Poland, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. Each of these places were unforgettable, and it makes me want to see so much more. I have met wonderful friends from around the United States who are on the same journey as me. I've gotten to stay connected to my family and friends through phone calls and post cards. I've learned some Czech, enough to get by at the coffee shop and the grocery store. I have made connections that will last a lifetime.
I hope you learned some new things about the Czech Republic. I have loved sharing my journey with you.
