Interview with Mongolian 5th Graders

What would you like to be when you grow up?:

Nandia wants to be a doctor when she grows up and Yanjka wants to be a lawyer or a judge - she hasn’t completely decided yet.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?:

Nandia really wants to go to France – she even has an Eiffel Tower pin on her hat! Yanjka wants to go to America because she thinks it sounds cool.

What do you know or think about the United States?:

Nandia: “The education system in the U.S. seems really good, especially for University.”

Yanjka: “People in the United States seem nice. Overall I think it’s good.”

What questions do you have for kids in the United States?:

Yanjka and Nandia had trouble coming up with questions, but Yanjka finally came up with one question. She asked, “Why are black people discriminated against in the United States?”
