A Peek into Life in Peru: the Perspective of my 9-Year Old Host Cousin

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

We study Communication, Religion, English, Personal Social Education, Science and Technology, Mathematics, and Physical Education. My favorite course is religion because we talk about God.

What is your homework like?:

Usually, we do our homework in our class notebooks. Sometimes we have to write sentences, numbers, draw, etc.

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

After classes I like to sleep, go on a walk or to the chacra. I usually have to do homework too. My favorite sport is volleyball.

Who is your favorite famous person?:

My favorite famous people are my mom (she made a joke about how everyone knows her for the tienda they have) and Miss Michala (I don't have any favorite celebrities from music or TV).

What kinds of music do you listen to?:

I like to listen to reggaeton and sometimes sad music.

What would you like to be when you grow up?:

I would like to be a doctor. I want to be able to help make people feel better when they are sick.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?:

I would go to the United States or South Korea. I want to go to the United States because I want to visit Michala and see her house and meet her family. I also want to travel to South Korea because of the show Squid Games and I want to learn how to speak Korean.

What do you know or think about the United States?:

I believe it is a beautiful place with a very different lifestyle from here in Peru.
