People speak English here as it is the national language, especially in school and at work. I also hear local languages like Nyanja and Bemba in everyday conversations.
The money used here is called the Zambian kwacha. The bills range from 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 to 500.
A bottle of water costs a few kwacha. It is not very expensive. The price can change depending on where you buy it, but it is generally affordable and easy to find.
The best meal I had was nshima with vegetables and chicken. It was simple but very filling and tasty.
I listened to some of my favorite songs that remind me of home and also heard local Zambian music. It was fun to hear new songs that I could sing with my friends here! The music often has strong rhythms and is played in shops or on the street, so I hear it even when I am not trying to.
