My brother is struggling a bit with depression, which puts an extra strain on my mom who is already dealing with caring for my grandma. Furthermore, my aunt doesn't take as much care of my grandma as she should, which puts extra stress on my mom. So right now, it's hard for me to be in Salvador and not be able to help my mom in Rio.
I walk and also take Uber. Sometimes, I take the bus, but mostly I just walk or take Uber when I need (Uber is really cheap here!). If we had a better public transport system, I would take the bus more.
I like to wear shorts with crop tops and dresses, too. The weather here is almost always hot, so you have to dress for the climate. I also like to wear flowy pants!
I love to go to the beach and go out with my friends to play board games or go out to eat or to the movies. I also really like going to museums too, which is great to do in Salvador because there are lots of museums here. I also like to go to "sambinhas," which means "little sambas", it is a place where anybody can go and learn to dance! Most sambinhas are in Pelhourinho, the historical center of Salvador. Finally, I like to play volleyball, read, and go on my phone.
I speak Portuguese and also a bit of English. I can understand a little bit of Spanish and am currently studying German. You can say either "oi," or "olá" to say "Hello" in Portuguese. "Oi" is more like "hey," and "olá" is more like "hello."
