Time has gone by quickly. I remember getting to Lima at the beginning of August and being scared because I didn't know anyone. That first night, I wanted my mom to be there with me because I was terrified. Four months later, I don't want to leave Lima. Without me noticing it, Lima has become my third home. I learned how to ride the bus by myself without the use of an app and to travel by myself around the city. My Spanish also improved over time due to the fact that I was speaking it every day. I also made memories with the friends that I met here, and will keep in touch with them. I got to meet many Peruvians that taught me their traditions, which I was able to participate in.My Peruvian friends also taught me the way they say things in Spanish. I traveled and saw new places that I had only dreamed of before--from being up high in Cusco to being surrounded by animals in the jungle of the Amazon in Iquitos. Overall, the last four months have been amazing! My host family, Lila and Rafa have been wonderful to me, and I am going to miss them dearly. I will also miss my roomates Mariah and Joanna who I became close to during this journey of a lifetime. I am going to be honest and say that this is not a goodbye but merely a see you later to Peru. I have plans of coming back again and exploring more of the country.
