About 90,000 people live here and it’s the 7th largest city in the Czech Republic! I work at a school called Gymnasium Jana Valeriana Jirsika (or GJVJ). It’s the oldest grammar school in České Budějovice and named after the bishop who founded it in 1868. Most of my students are in 9th-12th grade, but my school has a special option to start high school in 5th grade, so some of my students are your age!
