Hello! My name is Margaret Ferris and I’m from Cleveland, Ohio. I have two younger siblings, a sister who just finished her first year at the University of Georgia and a 15 year old brother who’s in 9th grade. We have one dog, Frankie (she’s named after a president… can you guess which one?). I love all kinds of music, learning new things, and exploring new places. I hate coffee, but I love English Breakfast tea and Chai Lattes. My favorite activities are hiking, snowboarding, canoeing, and reading.
In high school, I played the trumpet in a marching band and built robots for my school’s robotics team. I also worked at a cupcake shop, where I learned I was very bad at decorating cupcakes but enjoyed selling (and eating) them. In college, I studied government and ancient Roman history. I wrote a thesis (a really long paper) on ancient coins, so I love looking at coins and finding interesting ones. Before COVID-19, I taught music at a summer camp in Shanghai, China and studied ancient history in Italy. I loved traveling so much that I knew I had to do it again!
I’m currently teaching English in the Czech Republic. I live in a town called České Budějovice (che-skay boo-dey-oh-vitz-eh).
