Many of them were from Bangkok, but some came from far away so that they could attend college here.
Aside from interacting with students and local people, I have tried to learn about my community by visiting temples and art museums to understand more about what Thailand is really like. For example, I visited the temples to learn more about Buddhism, the main religion in Thailand. At the art museums, I also saw many pieces that focused on the environmental problems in Thailand and expressed a need for change.
These are small steps, but it is amazing to begin to engage in my community and I cannot wait to integrate myself further!
