Museumnacht was a lot of fun. We started at the Tropenmuseum, which means the Tropical Museum. After that, we went to the aquarium. We didn't stay long, but it was nice to see some of the fish. Next, we went to the planetarium. We were really excited to see the show, but after we sat down and they dimmed the lights, we realized the narration of the planets and stars above us was in Dutch. Oops! After that, we hit our last stop at the beautifully-lit botanical gardens! We explored the grounds and the tropical fauna, then listened to music before heading out to catch our trains home.
I read a book about a woman who was raised in the FLDS Church, which is a branch of the Mormon Church. The woman wrote about her experience learning and growing up there. She explained that she loved her family so much, but did not want to stay in the FLDS Church and be constrained by their strict religious practices. She chose to leave and now has two wonderful, young children and a husband.
I played the card game Solitaire on the plane ride home from Poland. Have you ever played? It is a great way to pass the time!
It was Halloween last Wednesday! What did you all dress up as? My program put on a Halloween party, and I went as Sally from the Peanuts. Have you ever heard of or seen a Charlie Brown movie? Sally is one of the characters, and some of my other friends dressed up as some of the other members from the movies.
