My mom is a kind teacher who teaches literature at Hong Duc University and at a high school. My dad works for himself.
I am in 6th grade in Vietnam. School starts at 7:00 AM in the summer and 7:10 AM in the winter, so I wake up very early. Middle school has morning classes on some days and afternoon classes on other days. For example, on Monday I go in the morning, and on Tuesday I go in the afternoon. Afternoon school usually starts at 2:00 PM and ends at 3:00 PM.
My school is close to home, so I can ride my bicycle. Sometimes my mom takes me on her motorbike because it’s faster. If my mom is busy or the weather is nice, I ride my bike by myself.
I eat lunch at home. We wait for our parents or ride our bikes home to eat and rest. I like simple meals with rice, meat, vegetables, and soup.
We speak Vietnamese at school. Some families also speak English or Chinese. In Vietnamese, we say “Xin chào!” for “Hello!”
