Getting around a city says a lot about its rhythm and the way people live. In Madrid, most people rely on public transportation and walking, which creates a lifestyle that feels both connected and alive. Buses and trains run constantly, weaving through every part of the city, while walking ties everything together. Coming from Miami, where driving is almost unavoidable, this shift in how I move through my days has completely changed how I experience life.
Most people in Madrid get around by using public transportation. This includes buses, trains, metro, and lots of walking. The transportation is reliable and works around the clock. The last metro usually end by 1:30 AM, but even after that, the night busses begin. Furthermore, within the bus and train systems they have different subclasses. For example, there are express trains that only have two stops, and take you from one side of the city to another. Also, there are green buses that looks different than the typical blue buses. Although I am not sure what the difference is between them, but the green ones are larger.
