Ramadan Kareem!

Ramadan is also a way to reflect on what you have in comparison to those who are poorer. Some consider donating food to help those in need.

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

This tradition connects back to the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Mohammed. Ramadan begins with the visual sighting of the crescent moon and lasts for 29 to 30 days. The end of Ramadan is also related to the moon. I believe this tradition has lasted this long because religious tradition is also a cultural tradition. In the days leading up to Ramadan, I could feel the anticipation in the air. It is exciting to look forward to the start of Ramadan. Schedules also change due to people fasting during the day. Most restaurants and shops are closed during the day and some people sleep all day and stay up at night. It is very interesting to observe the impact Ramadan has on people and Morocco.
