A Day In The Life of A Student In North Macedonia.

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

There are also some traditional names in Macedonia that are similar to traditional names in the United States. Names such as Marija (Maria), Filip (Philip), Sarah, and Stefan (Stephan) are very common in North Macedonia.

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

Students in Macedonia study between twelve and thirteen subjects in high school.  For the first two years of high school, all students take the same twelve subjects. Their subjects are English, Macedonian, German, Science, Mathematics, History, Writing, Geography, Economics, Sociology, Physical Education, and Art. Then students take one more class that is related to their concentration. Mirce’s concentration is Chemistry. Therefore, his thirteenth class is Chemistry. However, art class is Mirce’s favorite subject because it allows him to be creative and work together with his classmates. Once students reach years three and four in high school, most of their thirteen classes are related to their concentration to prepare them for a career or to go to a university.

What is your homework like?:

Mirce explained that he has a lot of homework (often too much!). With thirteen classes, Mirce constantly has different assignments, tests and projects. Mirce said that his math, chemistry and German classes give him the most homework. He enjoys completing his art homework and likes to create his own artwork during his free time.

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

Mirce’s favorite activity to do after school is to go to his folklore dance practice.
