Zdravo na site (hello everyone)! My name is Laura Schomig. I am 24 years old and from Annapolis, Maryland. Growing up in Maryland, I loved all water activities. Most of my childhood was spent as a competitive swimmer. I also loved to go fishing and boating with my family and friends.
After high school, I went to a college called the University of Miami in Florida, where I learned about cultures around the world. Then I went to a school called Johns Hopkins University to become a teacher! For the past two years, I served as a teacher in Baltimore City, teaching first and second graders! I also joined a group called Teach For America.
Now, I live in a small European country named North Macedonia (commonly called Macedonia) located in a region known as the Balkans, where I teach the English language to high school students and learn about their culture. I have enjoyed meeting the people of Macedonia, learning about their traditions and trying classic Macedonian dishes such as Ajvar and Borek. I cannot wait to share my journey in North Macedonia with you!
