In Spanish, hello is "hola" and in Asturian, people greet eachother in the morning by saying, "bonos díes."
Some common names for boys at their schools are Daní, Martín and Pelayo. Common girl names are Emma and Sofía. Pelayo is a very common name in Asturias, specifically due to a famous conqueror who founded Asturias in the eighth century.
"There are many subjects at my school," says Jorge. There is P.E., math, language, music, culture class, religion and English. Jorge especially loves P.E. class and math. Sofía comments that her favorite time at school is during art.
Some subjects, like English and math, have workbooks with exercises students complete at home. These shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. Students are expected to be kids once they get home and play as they like or practice on their sports teams.
When Sofía gets home from school, she likes to have a snack and then play outside with her friends or animals. She is very talented at art and enjoys activities like drawing and origami.
