Moving to Germany is a big change for me. Even though I have traveled to another country before, it's always scary to leave home and move across the world. Not knowing what awaits in a new country can be scary, but most of the time the experience is worth it! Even though I had to leave my family and friends in Minnesota, I knew they would still be there when I got back. Now was my time to explore and try something new. I was so afraid when my plane left Minnesota back in August, but now I don't know how I'll leave Germany at the end of June without missing it here.
I was especially nervous to move to Germany this time because I had never heard of the town I would be going to. Thankfully some people I worked with knew about it, and I was able to do a lot of research on the internet. This helped me have a better understanding of the town I would be going to, so it didn't feel like I was moving to somewhere I didn't know anything about. Wiith this information, I made goals for myself and had an idea of what I would want my new home to be like.
Once I got here, it took some time to adjust. Like going to a new school or learning a new job, you have to learn the routines of a new place and find out what you need to do. During my first week in Greifswald, I did a lot of walking.
