In my meal, I had lettuce, kimchi and pepper paste. The meal was filling and delicious!
After I scooped most of the rice out of the pot, I poured broth into it and waited a couple of minutes for the remaining rice to soften. This is called 누룽지 (nurungji), which is crispy rice that is traditionally enjoyed with hot water or broth as a warm finishing dish.
I listened to "Still with You" by Jungkook. I like this song a lot, and I am studying its lyrics to improve my Korean language skills.
I really enjoyed the Joint Cheering between Yonsei University and Korea University. This is an annual event I was looking forward to during my exchange. Although the two schools are considered rivals, everyone was friendly and respectful towards one another. One of my favorite parts was seeing everyone cheer together, moving their heads back and forth in unison while chanting the school cheer songs.
This semester I am taking a class on Korean pop and culture. My professor often assigns us interesting articles related to the topics we cover each week. This time, I was really excited to read a paper by Yuya Kiuchi titled “Idols You can Meet” and to learn more about the business strategies used by the Japanese pop industry. I studied all about AKB48, a famous girl group that helped revive the Japanese music industry in the early 2000's. I explored the positive and negative aspects of the relationship between artists, fans and fame.
