Bibimbap

Introduction:

Food is a big aspect of Korean culture. In fact, a lot of Koreans show that they care about you by asking if you've eaten. If you haven't, they will try to take you out to eat or offer you something that they have. Food brings people together in South Korea.

What food did I try?:

My favorite Korean dish is a dish called bibimbap. In Korean, bibimbap basically means "mixed rice" and the dish happens to be just that: a big bowl full of rice, meat, and vegetables! Bulgogi, which is a kind of beef, makes the dish especially Korean because the meat is popular when it's cooked on its own in South Korea as well. In my opinion, bulgogi is even better than steak! The vegetables are usually grilled zucchini, bean sprouts, carrots, and onions. Sometimes, the dish will also have grilled mushrooms and a fried egg on top.

How did I feel when I tried it?:

Bibimbap happens to be the first South Korean dish that I tried and it remains one of my favorites! It is perfect to have in any kind of weather, and it is so filling that you know you'll always have a full belly after sitting down to eat some. The combination of the savory bulgogi and then the coolness of the grilled vegetables makes the dish delicious.
