Traveler Bio

Hi guys! My name is Kathleen Quinn, and I am excited to share my journey with you! I am 22 years old and I come from Portsmouth, a town on an island in Rhode Island. I love the ocea,n and I will swim in any weather. I enjoy spending time outside, seeing creatures of all kinds, learning about history, viewing art, and creating my own paintings. I left the cold for a while and went to college at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. There, I studied neuroscience, exploring the incredible workings of the brain. I became especially interested in how stressful experiences can impact someone’s brain and well-being. I researched and worked with young adults who faced adversity in childhood and veterans returning from their military service.

I wanted to take this further, so I applied for a Fulbright award to the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. In the spring, I got the great news that I had received this award! Now I get to dive into a project studying the influence of early life experiences on later mental health and well-being. Not only do I get to work on a project I am passionate about, but I get to do it in Ireland! Come along and let’s see what life in Ireland has in store for me!
