How was the weather this week?:

It is actually the end of summer in New Zealand right now, which runs from December to February. Since New Zealand is in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons are opposite from the United States, which is in the Northern Hemisphere.

I am living in Dunedin on the South Island, which is very far south, so it is colder here than if you were closer to the equator on the North Island. This is the opposite of the United States, where if you drive south, it usually gets warmer. The weather this week was very rainy and cloudy. It also changes very quickly here. People say you should always be prepared for four seasons in one day!

What animals did I see this week? :

This week I saw sheep. Did you know New Zealand is known as the sheep capital of the world because it has more sheep than people? As you drive around the country, you will more likely than not see sheep grazing in luscious green fields. I also have seen many seagulls.
