Since Dunedin is a coastal town, seagulls are always flying around and sometimes will try to steal your lunch!
The coolest thing I saw this week was a set of dramatic sandstone cliffs along the coastline. The ocean here is often surrounded by rocky cliffs instead of flat beaches. That means you cannot always just walk straight onto the sand or water.
At this beach, there was a man-made tunnel that you walk through to reach the water. We did not swim because it was very cold and the waves were rough, but the cliffs were beautiful. Check out the photos I took!
One thing I have noticed is how green everything is here. Even though it has been cloudy and rainy, the hills around Dunedin are bright green and full of rolling farmland. Because New Zealand is an island nation, you are almost never too far from the sea. I can often see the ocean or the harbor from different parts of town, which makes nature feel very close to everyday life.
