The KKU Community

Once, we had a mini concert where we were both singing and he was playing the guitar. I later went on to play my own music. My classmates and the other customers were delighted by the spontaneous music. The baker's name is Shevcare and she used to live in Europe. She's been cooking her whole life and has worked for royal families before. My friend Dan who works at her bakery introduced me to her one day. The bakery was warm and cozy, filled with sweet aromas of all kinds, from pies to cakes and more. Shevcare was so kind and sweet. She treated me like I was family. Being abroad/away from home for so long makes you crave this kind of connection, so I felt safe in her shop. For my birthday, which was last week, she baked me a cake that actually looks like me! I've never had something like this done for me before and I could feel and taste the love in every bite as my classmates indulged in it with me. I've found comfort in this community and yearn for the familiarity every time I leave a homestay. I plan to explore more and meet new people every week that I am here.
