When I first arrived in Khon Kaen, I was thrilled about what the city has to offer. Khon Kaen isn't a tourist area, so there aren't cool things to do like hot air ballooning or mountain hiking, but it is a big city with a lot of interesting people. So far, I've met a group of photographers, Muay Thai fighters and a talented baker who used to work at the Grand Palace of Monaco. Integrating into the community wasn't difficult because I'm a very social person and have fun getting to know new people every day. My classmates and I either go on spontaneous adventures, get invited to go places or both. One of the several cool things I've done since moving to Khon Kaen was attending a folk concert with my classmate. There were tents scattered everywhere and vendors selling various desserts, Thai foods and there was even a Mexican stand. My classmate and I bought two burritos and proceeded to watch a folk-rock concert from a treehouse. I was very at peace and later met the owner of the small community where this event took place. The community is called Columbo Kraft and they hold this music festival every year. In addition to my classmates, some local people I've befriended are a coffee shop owner and a baker. The coffee shop owner is named Nook. He studied classical guitar in college and is always playing the guitar.
