What's It Like To Be a Kid in El Salvador?

School gets out around 1:00 PM or at 3:30 PM depending on the day of the week, and when I get out of school at 1:00 PM, I have soccer from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

My mom normally drives me to school. I can't go to school by myself because my school is pretty far away and there's no safe way to get to my school without someone driving me.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

During the week, I eat lunch at school, which isn't anything interesting. Otherwise I really like eating Subway, sushi and pizza here!

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I speak Spanish at school, but I'm bilingual, so I speak English and Spanish. Here you say "hola" to say "hello" to someone.

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

The ones I can think of right now are Carlos, Gabriel, Sara, Marcela, Pablo, Evelyn, José and Mariela.

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

We study math, social studies, language, science, physical education, computer lab and art. I really like social studies, despite not really liking my teacher. The subject is great!

What is your homework like?:

My homework is normally just doing some sort of activity at home that was related to what we did that day in class, and for math we have a book from which we work.
