I am, however, listening to more classical music because many people in my dormitory are talented with the piano. If you have not tried to learn an instrument yet, I recommend you do so! It might be easier to pick it up now than later!
Visiting the Melbourne Skydeck was the most fun activity this week, as I could see the whole city of Melbourne. I did this with others in the same study abroad program as me, and it was thrilling! I am scared of heights, so I did not get too close to the edge, but I made the most of it!
This week, I read "How Emotions Are Made". It argues that emotions are not built-in reactions tied to one part of the brain. Instead, your brain creates emotions by interpreting what is happening in your body (like a fast heartbeat) and what is happening around you. So, emotions are shaped by your past experiences and the situation you are in, not just hardwired feelings. Some exciting stuff!
I played some video games with friends this week. We played Mario Party, and I lost all the matches, but that is alright; I will win next time! Unfortunately, I did not play any sports, but I did go to the gym five times this week. Remember to always exercise!
During my time on the Great Ocean Road, I got the chance to see many beaches and even tried to surf on one of them called Apollo Beach. I went to the beach and swam for some time, but the weather got kind of gloomy and harsh, so I had to leave early. It was still really fun!
