My adventure in Botswana was one of the most exciting trips I have ever taken! I traveled to two amazing places called the Okavango Delta and the salt pans. Both places looked very different, but they were full of incredible animals, beautiful scenery, and lots of memories.
The Okavango Delta was flooded with water when I visited, which made it feel like a giant watery maze. We traveled in small boats and glided quietly through the water. Everywhere I looked, I saw animals! I saw hippos splashing in the water, elephants walking through the marshes, crocodiles resting near the riverbanks, and colorful birds flying overhead. Sometimes it felt like I was inside a nature movie. One of my favorite moments was watching a family of elephants cross through the water together. The baby elephant stayed close to its mother, and it reminded me how animals take care of each other just like families do.
At night, the sounds of the Delta were incredible. I could hear frogs croaking, birds calling, and hippos grunting in the distance. The stars in the sky looked brighter than I had ever seen before. Being there helped me realize how big and beautiful our world really is.
After the Delta, I visited the salt pans. The salt pans were very different because they were huge, flat, and dry.
