Let the Safari Begin

I really wanted to work in travel, so I kept trying until I found a job at a travel company. I sent emails, talked to people, and didn’t give up. When I finally got the job, I felt so proud and excited! Now I’ve been doing this job for 7 years, and I help people plan trips to many different parts of the world. One of my favorite kinds of trips to plan is safari trips, where people get to see animals living in the wild.

Today, I want to take you with me on a journey to Botswana!

Botswana is a country in southern Africa where nature feels very open and wide. One thing that makes it special is that animals can roam across huge areas without many fences. That means elephants, lions, zebras, and lots of other animals can travel long distances just like they always have.

One of the most amazing places in Botswana is called the Okavango Delta. Imagine a place where water shows up in the middle of dry land and slowly spreads out into rivers, lagoons, and grassy islands. Then, all kinds of animals come to find water and food. It feels a bit like a surprise water world appearing in the plains!

Farther away is another very different landscape called the Kalahari. This is a dry, sandy place that can look empty at first - but it’s not. If you look closely, you’ll find life everywhere: tiny animals digging tunnels, birds flying overhead, and animals that are experts at surviving in hot, dry weather.

I’m excited to explore these places and learn more about how people and animals live together in such unique environments. I’ll share stories from the field so you can experience a little bit of this adventure with me. Get ready... it’s going to be a wild and wonderful trip!
