Most of my traveling this week has been within Paris, going between my apartment, university and different neighborhoods. Even without leaving the city, I can travel several miles in a day by walking and taking public transportation.
My journey began in Chicago, Illinois, when I traveled across the Atlantic Ocean to Paris, France. The distance between Chicago and Paris is approximately 4,100 miles (6,600 kilometers) by air! Since arriving, I've continued exploring Paris and learning more about life in France.
My main ways of getting around Paris are walking and using public transportation. The Paris Métro is an underground train system that connects different parts of the city. It's convenient because I can travel between neighborhoods without needing a car. I also enjoy walking because it gives me a chance to discover new places.
One of the most interesting areas I've explored in Paris is the 13th arrondissement. An arrondissement is a district or neighborhood area of Paris. The 13th is especially interesting because of its diverse Asian communities and restaurants.
