Interview with my 12th-Grade English Student Paula

Introduction:

Paula Ionescu is a 12th-grade student at Ion Creanga Theoretical Lyceum, where I teach English to her class. She is also an American Spaces Volunteer in Balti.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

"I eat a decent breakfast of fruits, tea and maybe a cookie. I usually don't eat alone for breakfast; instead, I enjoy it with my family. I typically pack a lunch of vegetables and rice pilaf. For dinner, I eat something low in calories, like vegetables with some meat."

What is your house like?:

"I live in a one-story home in the village of Corlateni. I am thankful to live away from loud noises and crowded roads."

What chores do you have at home?:

"I take care of animals. We have chickens, pigeons and decorative fish. We also grow fruits and vegetables at home."

What jobs do your parents have?:

"My mother is a kindergarten teacher, and my dad currently works as a constructor [construction worker]."

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

"School starts at 8:00 am and usually finishes at 1:00 pm."

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

"I usually go to school with my parents, but sometimes I take the bus."
