This interview is with my host mom Montserrat! She is in her 70s and has been hosting students in her home for over 30 years. She has had many different jobs and has visited lots of places. Hopefully this gives you a look into the life of someone living in Madrid.
Montserrat Domenech Salazar.
I live in Madrid in the neighborhood of Estrella which is in the Retiro Park area. My house is an apartment on the fifth floor of a large building that has 4 rooms, 3 bathrooms, and two kitchens.
I have a partner named Cees (pronounced like 'case') who is from Holland. I also have a son, Abel, who lives in Barçelona.
I always use Madrid public transportation and usually the bus.
I like to wear lots of different things but I mostly dress very casually. Some people in Madrid like to dress nicer every day and care a lot about fashion, especially younger people. I like to shop at stores like Zara, Stradivarius, and El Corte Inglés (a Spanish department store).
