Quechua, the indigenous language that's been spoken in Peru since before the Spanish Conquest, is not spoken at all by either of them.
There are a lot of different names the kids have in Peru, with many coming from Spanish, especially biblical and Catholic religous figures, but also from Quechua, American movies and TV, and Japanese anime. Some of the most common names are Juan, Jose, and Angela.
They study a variety of subjects that are common to schools in the U.S., such as math, history, science and literature. They also have classes on handicrafts (such as woodworking and sewing), communication, vocational skills, citizenship and computer class. Maya's favorite subject is math, and Camila's is communication.
It largely depends on the class and the teacher. Teachers are given a lot of leeway in terms of how much or how little homework they assign, but towards the end of the school year, they tend to get a lot more homework to prepare for exams.
Niether of them play sports that often but they both like to dance and listen to music after school.
