Interview with 2 Juníners

Introduction:

Maya and Camila are two students who participate in summer camp classes to promote scouting. They are 16 and 17, respectively, and both live and go to school in Junín.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

Breakfast usually consists of pan con queso, and a drink called jugo de maca. Maca is kind of like a root vegetable with a very unique flavor and is largely only grown here in Junín, but it is exported throughout the world. It is commonly made into flour that people put into drinks here with milk and hot water. Lunch consists of a plate of papas, arroz, and pollo, with a unique sauce to differentiate the dish. Common ones include estofado or aji de gallina. Lunch is the biggest meal of the day, and dinner usually just consists of some kind of soup.

What is your house like?:

Maya's house is only one floor, and she lives with her parents and siblings. She lives across the street from the police station, so it can be quite loud throughout all hours of the day. Camila lives farther away from the main streets, so her house is much quieter. It's two floors and she also lives with just her parents and siblings. They are both made of brick and concrete, and neither has insulation, which can make it quite cold at night.
