What main languages are spoken here?:

French is the main language of Cameroon, followed by English, which is the main language of the northern regions. Cameroon is often called miniature Africa as it has all of the continent's aspects with its rain forests, savannahs, many different religions and cultures and a wide diversity of wildlife. 

What type of money is used here?:

The Central African Franc, CFA, is used for currency. 

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of mineral water that is produced near Mount Cameroon, costs 500 CFA - about 86 U.S. cents.

What was the best meal this week?:

Field food in the forest is often boring, but this week we had beans with field corn - a type of corn that is not sweet and maintains a nice texture when cooked. 

What music did I listen to this week?:

I often do not have music as I love the sounds of the forest, yet everyone here has music on their phones. In camp, we often had modern Cameroonian music with an occasional popular song from America. 

What activity was the most fun this week?:

We collected data from trail cameras which are automatic cameras that take videos or photographs of animals. Many species run at the sight of humans and it is the only way to observe many animal behaviors and nocturnal species.
