There are many organisations that are working to serve the homeless population in Berlin, offering temporary shelter, food, and job opportunities. Those organizations also work with different specific populations, like migrants, youth, and people with mental illnesses. One of the organizations I learned about is called Querstadtein, and they have a unique approach to helping others. They hire formerly homeless people to give tours around Berlin, and guides are encouraged to talk about homelessness in the city by sharing their personal experiences. This raises public awareness around homelessness.
