What main languages are spoken here?:

The main language spoken in Ghana is Twi. Some of the common greeting phrases are: Me din de ("My name is...") or Mefri California ("I'm from California"). Nailah and I are both learning the Twi language, in addition, Nailah is learning French and Chinese at her school. This week, we learned about how to say food names in Twi. The teacher brought all of his favorite vegetables to show us how to pronounce certain names of food. For example, yam is called bayere.

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal this week was groundnut soup with goat meat and fufu. It has become our go-to meal when we go out to eat. Nailah loves it and I enjoy watching her make a beautiful mess while eating with her hands!

What music did I listen to this week?:

The music we listened to this week was the live drumming from my dance and drumming class. We love nothing more than to hear the sweet vibrations of culture drums while moving across the dance floor.
