This week I went on a trip to a nearby town called Marsala with my friends which is renowned for having salt flats and wine. The trip was about 1.5-2 hours by bus or 77 miles away. I also walked a total of 46 miles this week exploring Marsala and the city after work with my new friends from all over.
I am now living about 4,200 miles from home and have yet to travel around much other than day trips to a few nearby towns and visiting my relatives in Northern Italy. However, in the future, I am hoping to travel around Italy, and I am going to Germany for a Christmas Market in a few weeks!
For my day trip to Marsala, I took a bus. The buses here are generally inconsistent and may not come. So, I take buses only when it is absolutely necessary. On a daily basis, I take a train to work and walk from the station to my apartment. Many people around here use scooters and bikes to get around.
I walked into a beautiful, golden-colored church, and inside there was a market! I couldn’t believe it. There were tables all around with people selling all kinds of fun things. One table had stacks of books. Another had cakes and cookies that smelled sweet and delicious. There were even plants in little pots.
