The weather this week was mostly cloudy with some rain and wind. It is very hot here in the summer and spring, but it is quickly turning into winter. However, winter conditions do not include any snow at all. The winter consists of many cloudy days with small bursts of rain for 10-15 minutes. Being on an island, the weather can be unpredictable. I have learned from the locals to always have an umbrella with me, which came in handy yesterday when I was waiting for the bus!
This week I saw some really cool animals. I saw friendly street cats wandering about all over the city, turtles at the park, pigeons and seagulls searching for food near the shore and my personal favorite, lizards! They are very quick, so I unfortunately don’t have photos, but they like to hide on the sides of ruined buildings and among trees and plants. You can also see crabs at the beach, and although it is now a bit too cold to swim here, if you go swimming, you can see fish near the shore. There are many cool animals here if you look close.
