Right in the middle of the pizza, there was a big, round ball of cheese. When we cut into it, the cheese was soft and creamy, and it melted all over the top. It was AMAZING! The pizza was a version of a popular Italian sandwich called schiacciata (ski-ah-CHA-ta). Schiacciata is usually a flat bread filled with yummy ingredients like cheese, tomatoes or meats. But this pizza took those same flavors and put them on top instead, like a fun twist on a classic food. It was delicious, and eating it with my friends made it even better!

What music did I listen to this week?:

This week, I listened to all sorts of music while working in the lab. My coworkers played some of their favorite songs, and I learned that many Italians really like music from singers and bands in the United States. It was fun to see everyone singing along while they worked. I even got to hear some songs I had never listened to before, and now I have new favorites too! Music made the lab feel happy and lively all week.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The most fun activity this week was going to a Thanksgiving event put on by Italians. It was interesting to see what Italians thought of Thanksgiving food, and one of my coworkers who joined even had the opportunity to try turkey for the first time in his life! He really liked it and said it tasted delicious. Everyone had fun sharing food, learning about the holiday, and celebrating together.

What did I read this week?:

Mostly, I have been reading articles about my research for work this week and emails; however, I found a bookstore this week that has books with one page in Italian and one page in English. I bought The Great Gatsby by F.
